April At St peter's

Easter is upon us and having travelled through what seems to have been a very short lent, this Sunday is Palm Sunday when we will be celebrating Jesus triumphal procession into Jerusalem.

In a sense Wednesday’s last Alpha night connects perfectly with this service as so many members of the course have gone through their own spiritual journey. They have arrived at the conclusion that Jesus was the promised Messiah. It has been an absolute delight to the church to see them come to faith and also be filled with the Holy Spirit during our Alpha day.

St Peter’s is having its own 'springtime' with many people being powerfully touched by God, released into ministries and coming to faith for the first time. I am always awestruck that the Gospel is so powerful to transform lives. As much as I am delighted by all of the practical improvements to the church, nothing can outshine the joy of new believes coming to know Jesus.

Easter week should be a great opportunity to share our faith with those in our local community. We have an array of different events for all age groups including a meal on Maundy Thursday, a Communion on Good Friday, a Easter Egg hunt on Easter Saturday, a Sunrise service and Family Service on Easter Sunday. Please invite friends and neighbours to attend one of these.

As we look forward into April we have our Gift, Vision and APCM Sunday on the 19th April. This is a very important time in the life of St Peter’s when we shall be restating the vision of the church for the year ahead, pledging our gifts to the work of the church and electing our PCC council for the next 12 months.

I want to extend a huge thank you to the whole church who have served tirelessly, prayed continually and worshipped without ceasing. You are a true blessing to me and my family, but more importantly you are shining like stars for the Kingdom.
